Where Digital Meets Physical

Date: January 27 2024
Time: 2 – 4pm

Are you excited by the possibilities of immersive theatre? Join Dustin Harvey of Secret Theatre (Nova Scotia) in learning to create immersive theatre experiences in which the digital and physical realms intersect. Learn how to create experiences that engage audiences technologically and tangibly while allowing for meaningful connections and emotional resonance.

Upping your Pitch Game

Date: January 28, 2024
Time: 2 – 4pm

Calling all arts makers, self-producers, playwrights and creators! Join actor, playwright and producer Elena Belyea (Smoke, Everyone We Know Will Be There, Miss Katelyn’s Grade Threes Prepare for the Inevitable) as we discuss the art of pitching a show to a potential producer or collaborator!

Bring that burning pitch you’re just dying to share, and pick up some new tips, tricks, best practices and pieces of advice from an artist whose pitch game is on point!

Queens, Clowns and Fools!

Date: January 30, 2024
Time: 7pm

Queens, Clowns and Fools is an introduction to pathways for new work creation that address, invokes, or involves an audience’s presence directly into performance. As taught by multi-award-winning drag clown Justin Miller (aka Pearle Harbour), this class aims to equip its participants with the skills to tear down (or at least peek around) the fourth wall, tap into their impulse and imagination, and open themselves up to the risk, surprise and love that can arise when performers authentically listen to their audience, and respond urgently to hug the calamity in the room.

High Performance Accessibility

Dates: February 3 and 4, 2024
Time: 1 – 4:30pm

A comprehensive fundamental two-day workshop on understanding access and Deaf & Disabled culture within theatre. Rethink your artistic practice, the theatre you consume, and current understanding of Accessibility and Inclusion.

Hear from Deaf and Disabled artists, patrons and access consultants who work and consume theatre in today’s theatre industry. Better understand what effect, good and bad, different types of access has on these individuals and how we might better serve these communities authentically and collaboratively.
