Garden pARTy
With Chantel Traub & Renee Wehring
On Sunday, August 13, 2023, we will be hosting a Garden pARTy! This workshop will be held in artist Chantel Traub’s garden, planted with creativity in mind. The workshop will feature two exciting classes, including a natural dye and eco-print workshop led by Chantel Traub, and a floral still life workshop taught by Renee.
During the natural dye and eco-print workshop, participants will have the opportunity to dye a silk scarf with flowers and plants collected from Chantel’s garden. They will learn to use natural dyes and create beautiful prints on silk fabric using plant materials.
In the floral still life workshop, participants will learn how to paint beautiful floral arrangements using watercolour and ink. Renee will share her expertise in creating expressive still-life compositions and provide guidance to all attendees.
All materials will be included in the workshop fee, and the event will be held outdoors in Chantel’s garden (weather permitting). Participants will have a wonderful time learning new skills and creating beautiful artwork in a serene and inspiring environment. We can’t wait to enjoy an afternoon of floral creativity with you!
Cost: 195$ CAD
Fee Includes:
Two workshops and instruction from two professional artists, a 35-inch square silk scarf (pre-mordanted for dye adhesion), garden-grown dye plants and flowers, checklist for garden dye plants, watercolour paper, ink, watercolour paint, and brushes available for use in the workshop. Light refreshments will be provided as well.
