Who You Are
Identity Ink is hiring a graphic technician with an eye for detail to join our team. You love the technical side of graphic design, connecting the dots between your monitor and production. You work well independently, thrive under pressure, and take great pride in your work. The graphic technician is responsible for ensuring client-provided artwork files are suitable for projects, providing upfront proofing for clients, and backstage prepressing for production. You value a collaborative and open work environment on a small team of like-minded people and are interested in a position with room for growth.
This is a full-time, in-office position with regular hours of 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.
Identity Ink is a dog-friendly workplace, and dogs ranging from 10 – 80lbs are onsite most workdays.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reviewing client-provided artwork files, proactively identifying areas of concern or deficit.
- Completing client proofs for approval prior to production, maintaining brand consistency with existing templates.
- Prepressing print-ready artwork files for production accurately and to established standards.
- Facilitating colour matching, ensuring files are correctly specified.
- Ensuring graphic quality and concerns are communicated promptly and clearly.
- Other tasks as assigned by the leadership team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Required: Minimum two-year post-secondary graphic design course.
- Required: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience with large-format printing and/or manufacturing is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite an asset.
- Strong commitment to excellence and quality of service.
