Guitar Setup Workshop

Join us as we celebrate International Women’s Day with Leila Sidi of TunaTone Instruments. Leila will be leading a virtual guitar setup workshop on March 11, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:30pm. This workshop is open to all members of Alberta Music, but will be geared towards beginners.

Bring your electric guitars and your questions as Leila helps us tackle the fundamentals of at-home set-ups for electric guitars and basses. In the workshop, you’ll learn the anatomy of your guitar, how to measure and adjust neck relief, action, intonation and pickup height.

The workshop will be open to 20 participants, filled on a first come first served basis. You will receive a Zoom link prior to the event.

Members and non-members welcome.

Suggested Materials:

  • Capo
  • Electronic tuner

Meet Your Mentor: Leila Sidi

Leila is inspired by the futuristic and resourceful designs of mid-century American and Japanese catalogue guitars. As such, TunaTone instruments are boldly simple, embodying a commitment to the fundamental importance of every element that comprises the whole, finished guitar. Built with accessibility in mind, TunaTone guitars are small, lightweight and geometrically designed to be played comfortably for people of a small stature for long periods of time. Leila knows that guitars are meant to enable a player to do their best playing, not provide a barrier to overcome. In addition to their playability, TunaTone Instruments have a lively and responsive sound, producing a warm and well-rounded tone.
