Learn the basics of fine art framing!
In this hands-on introductory course, you will learn the basics elements and processes involved in custom framing a two-dimensional artwork.
During this course, each participant will have an opportunity to practice cutting a basic mat window using A/P’s Logan Simplex before completing a finished custom 8″x10″ frame for a 5″x7″ or 4″x6″ artwork or photograph—just in time for holiday gifting or treating yourself to a new framed art piece!
Participants may select a 4″x6″ original print from A/P’s collection or they may bring their own two-dimensional 4″x6″ or 5″x7″ artwork or photograph to frame.
All materials are provided, including an 8″x10″ black wood frame, archival mat board, extra mat cutting blades, archival backing, hinging tape, framing points, hanging hardware, etc.
There will also be time to discuss additional techniques and possibilities to learn next for your upcoming framing projects.
