How to Sell Your Art on Social Media

The deadline for this opportunity has passed.

Are you interested in learning how to promote and sell your art on social media?

Or maybe you are already using social media but want to learn how to use it more effectively?

Maybe you’re just wondering why some artists get all the attention on social media and your art just don’t seem to strike up the same amount of buzz?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the workshop for you!

What is it?

This is a three-hour workshop with a presentation followed by small-group breakout sessions so participants will have the opportunity to work with the presenters to develop their own social media strategy to promote their art.

Who is Presenting?

Steve Gow is a volunteer director at New Motion Gallery, a marketing professional, and the founder of an online platform called UppstArt that helps artists sell their art online. He has a wealth of experience in marketing, sales, PR and e-commerce, and he has helped artists build their own web presence and sell art on social media, eBay, Amazon, Kijiji and many other e-commerce marketplaces.

Viviana Pacheco is a Calgary-based artist, volunteer director and President of New Motion Gallery. She creates stylistic paintings using very linear, bold, and colourful strokes of acrylic paint on canvas. She studied graphic design at Selkirk college, with a strong sense of entrepreneurship and desire for unobstructed personal expression, she launched a thriving art business that includes workshops, art classes, Canvas pARTies, and commissioned work.

Raven Moonstone is a volunteer director of New Motion Gallery and an artist. She started her art career by drawing memorial portraits for a friend in Leeds, UK, in November 2014. After this event occurred, she became aware of her gift to help heal with art. She immersed herself in drawing every day, from followers from Instagram to pet portraits, often sitting for hours in a coffee shop before and after work, feeling powerful connections to the subjects.
