Losing It at the End of the World

Losing It at the End of the World by Emily Schoen is a play that explores the environment, relationships between friends in a crisis, and the things we want to do before we die. During the last hours before the world ends, due to the environmental crisis, Ethan asks his best friend Sarah for a favour: To help him not die a virgin.

Characters:

  • Sarah – A cynical 16 year old female
  • Ethan – A zany and flamboyant 16 year old male
  • Mother – A wholesome 40 year old female

IDGAF Theatre will be casting artists who are 18 years old and older. However, the playwright is still looking to get feedback from artists who are close in age to the characters. This will help the playwright with the experiences and perspectives that are needed to further develop the play. The priority is not artists who look like teenagers but rather artists who are able to give the perspective of a young person. Losing It at the End of the World explores subject matter such as nudity. This will not be required in the workshop. There will be an intimacy director present to facilitate conversations around intimacy in the script.\

The Face-Off

The Face-Off by C.G.W. is a play that explores politics, voter responsibility, and what promises political parties make and keep. Four fans get together to watch the most talked about event in Canada. Experience the goals and penalties all over again. Which team will bring home the victory? The Face-Off puts a comedic spin on one of the biggest games of all, the 2019 election. IDGAF Theatre will be looking to cast two performers in the following roles.

Characters:

  • NDP Fan
  • Green Party Fan

Without acknowledging the ways politics has been used for oppression, IDGAF Theatre cannot create and facilitate meaningful commentary. IDGAF Theatre will be prioritizing IBPOC artists for these roles. Formal theatre training is not a requirement for these workshops. Artists will be invited to participate in facilitated conversations and provide feedback to support the playwrights needs.
