Indigenous Endowment Program Advisor

Reporting to the CEO, the Indigenous endowment program advisor will help to develop and implement an endowment program of bursaries and awards for Indigenous students at post-secondary institutions in Canada.

This is a six-month contract, part-time position. You must have access to your own phone and computer in order to perform this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and running small focus group sessions to gather community feedback to help develop the endowment program.
  • Researching opportunities for establishing bursaries and awards with Canadian post-secondary institutions.
  • Helping to develop the branding for the endowment program.
  • Liaising with Canadian post-secondary institutions to set up bursaries and awards for Indigenous students


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of accountability, dependability, and follow-through.
  • Comfortable working independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

The following are not requirements for the role but are considered assets:

  • Self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit.
  • Lived experience and/or formal education on Indigenous rights and the history and contemporary realities of Indigenous Peoples.
  • Knowledge of Canadian post-secondary institutions and bursary/award systems and processes.
  • Experience with branding and promotion.
  • Experience with organizing and/or facilitating focus groups.

Hours: Between 30 and 80 hours per month. Hours can be conducted remotely anywhere in Canada, though preference may be given to candidates in Alberta.

Compensation: $22 to $40 per hour depending on experience.
