Indigenous Submissions for Poetry Pause
The League of Canadian Poets
Deadline: April 1, 2025
Calling all Indigenous poets!
June 2025 is National Indigenous History Month, and we want to feature your poetry in Poetry Pause! If you’re an Indigenous writer, submit your poems for a chance to be showcased throughout June.
Poetry Pause sends a poem a day directly to subscribers’ inboxes. This daily digital dispatch augments the presence of Canadian poetry and provides an opportunity for Canadian poets — seasoned and emerging alike, to have their poetry read by an ever-growing audience.
Inspired by the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-A-Day, Poetry Pause delivers more than a poem; it delivers the chance for folks to pause for poetry – to spare a few minutes each day for words that heal, inspire, and sustain.
From time to time, Poetry Pause will seek submissions for a particular call, such as for Black History Month or Pride Month.
We invite all poets who live or work in Canada to submit their work to Poetry Pause. Published poets do not need to be members of the League of Canadian Poets.
