Your Responsibilities:

  • Create full drawing packages from inception to completion, including but not limited to design layouts, finishing plans, furniture and artwork plans, and detailed elevation plans
  • Prepare furniture selections, procure all furniture, and carry out hands-on final staging of all designed areas
  • Attend project sites regularly to help gauge project goals, ensure alignment of design visions with actual site conditions, and rapidly modify scopes as required to address possible changes in project needs
  • Work to help standardize design approaches across a nation-wide portfolio, while finding creative ways to apply coherent design principles to newly encountered situations
  • Assist team as necessary with portfolio-wide (BC, Northern/Southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec)
  • Rebranding project design implementation
  • Assist in the preparation of technical project specifications and documentation
  • Trouble-shoot design challenges daily throughout the construction cycle, in a highly collaborative manner with
  • Design team peers, contractors, and consultants
  • Assist Team with quality assurance implementation on Rebranding projects, portfolio-wide suite renovation work, and common area scopes
  • Communicate effectively with all project teams including design team, executive management, operations,
  • Marketing, asset management, capital projects, IT, etc.
  • Assist with project budget-tracking
  • Assist design team with additional priority tasks as required

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of design experience
  • Experience and passion for Interior Design required
  • Bachelor of Interior Design or Bachelor of Applied Interior Design required
  • AutoCAD/drafting software experience required
  • Rendering software experience required (Sketch-up Vray, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively use all tools required (hammer, drill, level, etc.) for furniture and artwork installation
  • Ability to travel (fly within Canada/US) regularly/monthly for project progress site visits and staging
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
