Join our amazing team in delivering Calgary’s most exciting and unique arts event!
We are looking for a variety of enthusiastic volunteers with different levels of expertise and experience to support the delivery of Look: The Dada Ball. Inspired by the Dada art movement, the night will be a mind-stretching pastiche of captivating entertainment, fashion, art experiences and one of the most coveted art auctions in the country.
This unique volunteer opportunity provides invaluable experience of working on a major arts event that welcomes local and international artists, curators, gallerists, art dealers, collectors and more!
Contemporary Calgary will provide an excellent volunteer experience and the training and support required. All volunteers will receive access to the LOOK afterparty, a free 1-year Membership and more!
All those interested in the arts and/or events and hospitality are encouraged to apply.
Availability Required
- Informal group interviews: Wednesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 2, 2024
- Orientation and training: May 6 – 18, 2024. One session will be hosted for your specific role within this time frame with date and time tbc.
- LOOK Event Day: Saturday, May 25, 2024
Please note that all volunteers are required to attend their training session and the event and be over the age of 18. If you do not meet these requirements but are interested in volunteering at Contemporary Calgary, please keep a look out for future opportunities.

Volunteer Roles
Official LOOK Volunteer, Front of House Support
Role: To support Contemporary Calgary’s Front of House and Events team in welcoming guests to the event. This might include scanning tickets, coat check and other tasks.
Experience: No experience needed, but let us know if you have customer service experience.
Official LOOK Volunteer, Guest Support
Role: To support Contemporary Calgary’s Gallery Attendant and Events team in guiding guests to the exhibitions and events while providing information and direction.
Experience: No experience needed, but let us know if you have customer service experience.
Official LOOK Volunteer, Dinner Support
Role: To support Contemporary Calgary’s Event Team to support the Gala Dinner and directing guests from their sponsor tables to the auction event and other tasks.
Experience: No experience needed, but let us know if you have customer service experience.
Official LOOK Volunteer, Auction Support
Role: To provide general auction support as part of Contemporary Calgary’s event team. This includes auction spotting, taking payment information and other tasks.
Experience: No experience needed, but let us know if you have customer service experience.
Official LOOK Volunteer, General Event Support
Role: To provide general event support as part of Contemporary Calgary’s team. This might include tasks that are more behind the scenes and less customer facing.
Experience: No experience needed.
