As part of the RBC Emerging Artists Playwright Mentorship program, APN is proud to present a conversation with award-winning playwright/screenwriter Charles Netto and award-winning producer/director/actor Jayson Therrien.

Both of these artists started their careers in Calgary and have a wealth of information to share about the creative, production and business sides of making film and television.

Charles Netto is an award-winning screenwriter as well as director and producer of narrative film hailing from Mohkinsstsis on Treaty 7 territory. In 2015 Netto co-wrote the award winning film One Night in Aberdeen (available on shortoftheweek.com), premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival where it won Best Overall Short and the Enbridge Alberta Spirit Award.

Jayson Therrien has been a part of the film industry in Canada for over 15 years, serving first as an actor then a producer and now director. Acting credits include: Jann (CTV), Black Summer (Netflix), Tribal (ATPN), Everfall (ShowTime Networks), A Miracle on Christmas Lake (SONY), Fargo (FX), Heartland (CBC).
