Managing Director
Be a part of the improv evolution!
The International Theatresports Institute is seeking a dynamic, self-directed part-time Managing Director (MD) who is passionate about improv and who is comfortable serving a global membership. Working closely with the finance officer and reporting to the board of directors, the MD will support the initiatives of the member-service organization, and oversee all administrative aspects of the Society.
Start Date: Immediate start
Compensation: Commensurate with experience range $24-$27/hr
Hours: Part-time, flexible hours, which vary according to seasonal activities. General hours 10-15 per week (plus added hours for special events up to 40 hours during conference).

About the ITI
The International Theatresports Institute (ITI) was founded and empowered by TheatresportsTM creator Keith Johnstone, to serve and evolve the art of improvised theatre, particularly the licensed formats TheatresportsTM, Maestro ImproTM and Gorilla Theatre. It serves more than 100 member companies and individuals around the world, providing support for new players, community development and advancement of the art of improvisation.

About the Position
The managing director is responsible for the business and daily operations of the ITI, including overseeing financial management, budgets, business operations, advisory and elected board relations, member outreach and communication, and support for ITI initiatives, from manual publication to outreach workshops to bi-annual international conferences. Hours will vary as initiatives lag or peak. Bi-annual international travel may be required.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Non-profit or small business management experience.
- Project management and/or event management experience.
- An awareness and appreciation for improv theatre and arts administration.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (multiple languages are an asset).
- Comfortable with key software platforms Trello, Zoom, Google docs, Microsoft Word, Quickbooks and social media navigation/utilization skills.
The ideal candidate has the capacity to work with a high degree of independence, is self motivated, is professional and has some business savvy. The candidate must also be comfortable in a support role using the utmost discretion.
