Mascot Maker / Props Sculptor Lead

We entertain the world by creating the absolute best mascots, period! Street Characters Inc. is on the lookout for a mascot sculptor lead to join our team for current and upcoming productions!
Role
As a mascot sculptor lead, you will be in charge of creating exciting, dynamic and detailed mascots and props that fit the style of the concept design. For this position, we are looking for a portfolio that shows a variety of your work, with a strong understanding of proportion, dimension, and a keen eye for details.
Responsibilities:
- Assign tasks to team members/prop makers
- Oversee projects to ensure they meet standards and deadlines.
- Train team members
- Create a three-dimensional forms; from EVA high density (cosplay) foam, to match the approved concept art
- Collaborate within different departments to create engaging mascots
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of all tools
- Knowledge and safe use of solvent (eg contact cement)
- Continuous learning of new products and techniques
You will be a great fit on our team if you:
- Have a degree or diploma in fine arts or sculpting or equivalent experience
- Have basic sewing knowledge (machine and hand sewing)
- Have knowledge of latexing and airbrushing
- Have a strong understanding of proportion, balance, perspective and dimension and can translate into a 3D sculpture
- Have an eye for detail, good design sense and quality
- Have experience with small power tools and hand tools
- Have initiative, bring new ideas and techniques to the table
- Are able to problem solve
- Are motivated, hardworking and able to work in a fast pace environment
- Are organized with good sense of time management skills
- Can take direction and work collaboratively within a team environment
- Communicate professionally and positively
- Understanding of upholstering will be considered an asset

- Must be willing to complete a test (1 – 1.5 hrs)
