Music Mile Augmented Reality Mural Exhibition
Call for Artists
Inglewood Business Improvement Area and MAUD Collective, formerly known as Buds Collective, is now accepting applications for the Music Mile Augmented Reality Mural Exhibition. Taking place throughout the winter season, January 21 to February 27, 2022, this exhibition will transform Inglewood’s historic main street and the heart of Music Mile into a prime destination to view creative window displays, combining local artistic talent with new augmented reality (AR) technology.
This will be a unique signature event designed to support the local business community while increasing visitors to the area during the winter months as well as create placemaking that is COVID-aware. Additionally, it will provide accessible, expressive, and temporary street art to an area with few avenues to traditional street art.
This call is to artists that work in either a paint medium, animation or music. You may apply as both a painter & animator if you work in both mediums. Painters, animators and musicians will be paired with a small business to transform an Inglewood main street window into a multi-media visual & musical installation. The use of Augmented Reality will allow the animation to be overlaid on top of the window painting. The two mediums will be superimposed to create the interactive piece. The animation will feature music by a local musician/band.
