Quickdraw Animation Society

Application deadline: Before our AGM on June 26, 2024 at 6:30pm, held online

Quickdraw Animation Society seeks to fill four open roles on our board of directors.

Joining our board means getting an inside look to strategic planning, policy work, and dreaming big for our little charity. Be a part of steering Quickdraw and gain valuable experience in arts governance.
The QAS Board of Directors is currently seeking up to four general board members to serve in non-Executive positions. If being on the Executive is of interest, please let us know.

QAS turned 40 this past May and GIRAF turns 20 later this year. Sit on a committee, get involved and help animate our community!

If that sounds like fun, read further.

About Quickdraw

Incorporated in 1984, the Quickdraw Animation Society (QAS) is Calgary’s home for independent animation. One of Canada’s leading artist-run centres, we promote the art of animation through courses, workshops, screenings and production resources.

The mission of Quickdraw Animation Society is to foster a creative community through resources and opportunities that further animation arts and culture.

QAS is home to Canada’s largest non-profit animation studio, state-of-the-art animation facilities, and the largest animation resource library in Western Canada. We have hundreds of active members, solid financials, and decades of goodwill in the local, provincial, national, and international arts communities. We punch well above our weight; we are a small but mighty organization. Through classes for adults and youth, workshops, outreach, programming, in-house productions, film screenings, and innovative educational and artistic endeavors, QAS is a leader in the non-profit arts ecosystem.

For more information, check out our website.

Targets:

  • To promote a diverse membership by welcoming all individuals.
  • To cultivate healthy communities by encouraging creative expression through animation.
  • To foster a high level of artistic excellence by serving as a hub for innovation and creativity.
