Office Mural
CSV Midstream Solutions is looking for a talented and imaginative local artist to create an inspirational and memorable mural for our downtown Calgary office lobby. This mural will serve as a warm welcome to our guests, reflect our company values and add an exceptional artistic touch to our space.
Scope
CSV Midstream Solutions is a natural gas company, with five midstream facilities and a sixth under construction. Our name – CSV – was inspired by the concept of Creating Shared Value, which we have adopted as our business model. We want to be more than just a good corporate citizen who complies with community standards. We want everything we do to create value that benefits our business and the world around us. Creating shared value is about creating long-term value for both a company and society by addressing societal issues like health, water, and the environment. It’s about re-engineering the way we do business. For example, to conserve fresh water in the oil and gas industry, CSV has designed a water recycling system that efficiently removes hydrogen sulphide (H2S) from produced water. By providing recycled water to our customers for use in their production activities (specifically hydraulic fracturing and well stimulation operations), producers can enhance their environmental performance, while protecting the communities in which we live, work, and play. Because sour water (produced water containing H2S, among other contaminants) cannot currently be reused for fracking purposes or returned to its natural environment, CSV’s new technology creates shared value for communities, industry and our company.
The lobby mural should speak to CSV’s commitment to the community, the environment, a safe culture, and building the highest standard gas plants. We look forward to discussing our values and collaborating with the selected artist to finalize the vision of the artwork.
Call to Action
The full lobby wall is 36 feet long and 9 feet tall. Understanding the mural would not take up the entire space, we would like it to have a strong impact when visitors arrive. As such, we envision it being quite large, approximately 5-6 feet tall and 20-24 feet wide, created as panels for mobility (these dimensions are a suggestion, we are happy to discuss more with artists and hear any feedback or recommendations). Our initial vision was of painted panels; however we are open to other ideas that capture the scope.
Installation: We prefer the mural to be created off-site in manageable pieces and subsequently installed in our lobby.
Timeline: The project timeline can be discussed and agreed upon based on mutual convenience and feasibility.
Compensation: $12,000 CAD, supplies and installation included.
