Photo Booth Attendant

Position: Photo Booth AttendantCompany: Flash Co. Photo BoothPosition Type: Independent Contractor, casual shiftsWhen to apply: AnytimeAvailability: Evenings and weekends

We are currently looking for photo booth attendants to pick up work July through December 2023.

Description

If you are looking for hands-on work in a fun environment over pushing paper in a 9–5 office job, this might be the right role for you. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door working in the events industry, picking up casual evening and weekend work in Calgary, Kananaskis, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise. Flash Co. provides photo booth services for events and parties and is looking for outgoing, independent people who value picking up casual shifts in a social environment over the typical part time office job.

About Flash Co.

Our photo booth is sleek, modern and easy to use. The photo booth enclosure contains a dSLR camera connected to a touch screen tablet or iPad, strobe and printer. With a quick tap of the tablet, a photo is taken and the digital and physical print is available to users within seconds. We typically take on 80–100 events per year with most events taking place evenings and weekends. Our busiest season is May through Thanksgiving long weekend and again over the Christmas Holiday season (mid-Nov to mid- Dec). July through September are typically our busiest months.

Your role

Attendants complete set up and take down of the photo booth and ensure smooth operation and guest engagement throughout the event. This role requires pick up of the photo booth system at our centrally located offices, set up and take down of the photo booth, monitoring the booth throughout the event, interacting with guests and troubleshooting any technical issues onsite. Setting up and running the booth is pretty simple. We will teach you everything you need to know!

Experience

Considering most of our events are at weddings and corporate parties, having some experience at these types of events as a vendor/assistant is certainly an asset but again not required. No photography experience is required but if you have a knack for tech this can be an asset. The booth is mostly plug and play but does have a few technical aspects that keep it running smoothly.

Other Perks

We are well connected in the events industry in Calgary and The Bow Valley with over a decade of experience networking with wedding planners, venue coordinators, photographers & videographers and other wedding and event industry professionals. We regularly attend networking events (which are really just industry get togethers) and would love to introduce the ideal candidate to others in the industry. If you are looking for an insider’s look on how to start and run a small business but don’t know where to start, we are wealth of knowledge and would love to share what we know! There are opportunities to look under the hood of our operations, learn what works and what doesn’t and get paid hands-on experience at live events. All you have to do is ask!

Head office location: Our head office is centrally located, just three blocks North of the AUArts/SAIT campus in the Capitol Hill.

About the owners of Flash Co.

We are small business owners operating event brands in Calgary and The Bow Valley. We started off as wedding photographers and made the move to a more scalable business. We saw a gap in the industry for capturing beautiful portraits of guests at weddings and events and launched Flash Co. in 2014 as an elevated photo booth service for luxury events. We see Calgary’s event industry as a tight knit community where we believe “a rising tide lifts all boats”. We’d like to see newcomers to the industry not only succeed but thrive in the industry. Therefore, we want to share our wealth of knowledge about the industry, give an inside look into how to run an events business and introduce the ideal candidate to others in the industry.
