Powwow Trail 101, Seeking Dancers/Drummers
Calgary Public Library
Application deadline: Monday, August 4, 2025
Powwows are an Indigenous celebration where culture is shared and people gather to connect. In Treaty 7, there are five Powwows part of the Powwow Trail — Siksika, Kainai, Tsuut’ina, Piikani and Îethka Stoney Nakoda Powwows.
Ahead of these Powwows, Calgary Public Library hosts Powwow Trail 101 at different locations. It shares information about Powwow protocols, etiquette, and hosts drumming and dancing demonstrations with non-Indigenous Library visitors.
We are seeking skilled powwow dancers and drummers, ages 8 to senior, to participate.
