Production Support Specialist

As a production support specialist at Street Character Inc., you’ll play a key role in our dynamic team, handling diverse tasks including laser cutting, embroidery, 3D printing and fabric sublimation. You’ll be responsible for converting physical patterns into digital files, operating and maintaining machinery, preparing materials and documenting processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. We offer a flexible Monday-to-Friday schedule with mandatory morning check-ins, and we value creativity and attention to detail in our supportive, team-oriented environment.

We’re looking for a dedicated and versatile production support specialist to join our team and help ensure our production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Position Overview
The production support specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our production team by managing various tasks related to our laser cutting, embroidery, 3D printing and sublimation processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities with precision and minimal direct supervision. The ideal candidate has great communication skills, is self motivated and enjoys working on a variety of projects with different materials for 3D printing, laser cutting, embroidery, textile manufacturing, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Laser Cutting:
- Convert physical patterns into digital files for use with a laser cutter machine
- Operate the laser cutter machine safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the laser cutter machine
Embroidery:
- Operate and maintain the embroidery machine, ensuring optimal performance
- Alter and customize .DST embroidery files as needed
Fabric Sublimation:
- Sublimate fabric and create files and patterns for the sublimation process.
Material Preparation:
- Prepare and organize materials for the production team, including cutting, quality checking and organizing.
Documentation:
- Document and record specifications, processes, and procedures for future reference and consistency.
Additional Tasks:
- Provide general support to the production team as required
- Ensure all production processes are carried out in adherence to safety and quality standards
- Create and modify designs using Adobe Suite
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and objectives
- Create 2D and 3D prototypes and mock-ups to visualize design concepts
- Conduct analysis to ensure cost-effectiveness and durability
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials to bring fresh ideas to the table
- Review and revise designs based on feedback and production constraints
- Oversee machine safety, including clean up and turning off equipment
Qualifications:
- Experience with laser cutting and embroidery machines preferred
- Basic knowledge of file formats (.DST, etc.) and digital file creation
- Experience with fabric sublimation and pattern creation is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on machinery
- Experience with sewing is an asset but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Awareness of risks and hazards relating to the use of equipment
- Good knowledge of materials used in the workshop and production facilities
- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box
- Understanding of equipment and operation procedures
- Strong organizational and self-management skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience in running an embroidery machine would be considered an asset
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
Work Schedule
This position offers a flexible schedule within a Monday to Friday workweek, with the requirement to complete 40 hours per week. While we provide flexibility to accommodate personal needs, all employees must attend mandatory morning check-in meetings. These meetings are essential for coordinating daily tasks and ensuring smooth operations.
