Youth Singers of Calgary is a performing arts organization offering choral music, dance, and theatre arts education.
We are currently looking for a musical instructor to support our kids and music division providing music education to children in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 2 who has proven choral directing experience, preschool teaching experience as well as the ability to teach online if required.
Some of your main duties will be teaching to four different age groups in disciplines such as unison and two-part singing as well as age-appropriate repertoire, skills and concepts, reading a musical score, and building of musical and choreography skills that will enable students to continue upward to the next choir level in the organization.
The teacher should have a beautiful singing voice, coloratura soprano preferred. In addition, we need the candidate to perform administrative duties such as scheduling of classes with other music teachers and assisting the organization with administrative data entry, during the summer will assist with yearly start-up music ordering, collating, and distribution.
This is a full-time permanent position at Youth Singers of Calgary (1371 Hastings Crescent SE) with at least 30 to 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $20 to $25 depending on experience. The ideal candidate must have a diploma or college certificate from a music program or high school with a minimum of at least two to three years industry related experience and have the ability to play either the piano or guitar to accompany students to be considered for the position.
