Program Director: Feature Initiatives
The Alexandra Writers Centre Society is currently seeking an individual with events and programming experience to join our small creative team as program director: feature initiatives.
This individual is responsible for the planning and execution of current seasonal feature initiatives such as the Writer in Residence Program, Author Development Program, Feature Workshops/Events, including the newly acquired When Words Collide Festival, as well as developing new events for the membership and the public such as guest speakers, panels, reading series and supporting our regular adult programming as needed.
The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with experience in event planning and or program development. They will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Zoom, Canva, MailChimp, and various social media. They are able to work well independently and as a team. Current knowledge and understanding of the literary community in Calgary/Alberta is an asset.
This is a part-time position of approx. 20 to 25 hours per week, with some evening/weekend work required for some events. The starting salary is $25,000 per year, with fully paid benefits after three months, sick days, mental health days, professional development opportunities and flexibility with office and remote work.
