How Can We Restart Alberta’s Art + Culture Economy?
A discussion led by Sydney Lancaster, artist + CARFAC National board member) and Chris W. Carson Executive Director, CARFAC Alberta.
In this Zoom discussion, we want your ideas on how you envision a restart to our arts and culture economy. If the last 18 + months have taught us anything, it’s that we only truly thrive as artists when our communities thrive. We need to support each other, and build capacity like never before. Artists are a resilient and self-reliant bunch, but in the end what we do now, together, can help shape a better future for each of us and for the sector as a whole. By sharing ideas, we can create some traction, find people and organizations that are ready to step up and help. Join in this discussion on how to create an Alberta where the arts and culture thrive.
Our desire to facilitate this session was prompted by an article in the Edmonton Journal, which you can find by visiting Groundwork: How at risk is Edmonton’s celebrated arts and culture economy?
Come share your thoughts, your ideas, your wish-list for a post-pandemic future. Let’s think potential, together.
