Digital Producing Apprentices

Digital producing is the creative experience design and project management of digital or hybrid events. It is a dynamic career characterised by constant innovation, experimentation, and life-long learning.

Digital producers have individualized skillsets from traditional event producing (project management such as budgeting, research, planning, grant writing, business strategy, human resources, etc.) to content creation and digital/media arts (videography, video editing, graphic design, stream programming/operation, social media coordination, web design/dev, digital/media arts, etc.).

This is a career that is highly customizable to each individual’s interests and strengths, as they relate to the planning and execution of the wide spectrum of digital/hybrid experiences (festivals, shows, installations, etc.)

Apprenticeship #1 Associate Digital Production Manager

Learn how to plan for and manage digital/hybrid programming from inception to execution. 100% hands-on learning. The apprentice will have the opportunity to work alongside Savanna and the project teams as associate digital production manager for a full season spanning one major hybrid (live physical and digital) art project and a series of regular weekly programs.

This apprenticeship is intended to be a more advanced professional development placement, building on pre-existing event management/arts administration (or comparable) experience.

Apprenticeship #2 Associate Digital Designer

Learn what assets are needed for various digital/hybrid events and gain experience designing/delivering project assets. All asset creation is either directly (project asset) or indirectly (digital marketing) part of the larger digital dramaturgy (storytelling) of the project as a whole, and founded on experience/interaction design. 100% hands-on learning. Use your content creation skills to tell innovative stories and design unique experiences (videography, graphic design, photography, media art, web design/dev, etc.) The apprentice will have the opportunity to work alongside Savanna and the project teams as associate digital designer for a full season spanning one major hybrid (live physical and digital) art project and a series of regular weekly programs.

This apprenticeship is intended to be a more advanced professional development placement, building on a pre-existing media art/marketing/designing (or comparable) practice.
