About the Lot 6 Project
The City of Calgary and the Calgary Downtown Association (CDA) are developing a vibrant new outdoor venue on Lot 6. Nestled along the river and near the commercial district, Lot 6 will offer amenities for residents, workers, and visitors, including a possible dog park, events with DJs and live music, as well as a bar, restaurant, café and/or ice cream shop.
2024 Pilot Edition
Dates: August 29 to September 30
Hours: Thursday to Saturday, 12 noon to 11pm
Events: 3 per week

End Time: October 15, with possibility of a year-round position extension

Job Summary
In collaboration with Aire Commune, the City of Calgary, CDA, and Belleville Placemaking, the producer oversees the planning and deployment of the temporary event infrastructure and its animation and activation. The producer has numerous responsibilities, including event logistics, choice of suppliers and collaborators, compliance with agreements between the project partners, and site operations. The producer is responsible for managing the budget and invoices related to the project. After delivery of the pilot project, the producer may be offered an opportunity to support with other activations organized at Lot 6 in 2025 and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Management of site maintenance and operations
- Liaison with the various City departments involved in operations
- Liaison with project management committee
- Management and strategic input with suppliers for security, reception, cleaning, maintenance and F&B
- Management of materials and equipment required for operations
- Creation of operating schedules and recording of working hours
- Coordination of the various departments involved in the pilot (programming, communications, marketing, maintenance, production)
- Monitoring of project budget and proper management of internal payables and receivables
- All other tasks related to site operations, logistics and project management
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in event planning and project management
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to manage budgets and invoices
- Knowledge of event logistics and operations
Experiences:
- Education or significant experience in a related field (event management, operations, production)
- Knowledge of the Calgary event industry
- Knowledge of public space event management is an asset
- Valid driver’s license
