Share Nostalgic Memories of local Flea/Farmers Markets
Aberta Society of Artists’ residency artist Ziya Lin’s art project
Deadline: July 1,2025
Do you have a memory tucked in the aisles of Calgary’s Crossroads Market or other local flea markets? A photo that holds a story? A small moment that still lingers?
We’re inviting you to share your personal stories, nostalgic memories and old photos for an upcoming community-based art project by artist Ziya Lin, as part of her artist residency with the Alberta Society of Artists.
This open call is part of an artistic research exploring how local markets carry the cultural codes and identities of a city. Your story could help shape a deeper collective reflection on what makes these spaces so uniquely ours.
Selected stories will be featured in a public art exhibition launching in August 2025, and participants will receive an honorarium for their contribution.
To submit email to ziya.lin92@gmail.com with your story, memory, and/or photo by July 1, 2025.
Let’s archive what matters. Let’s remember together.
