Social Media Lead
Reporting to the senior manager, communications & public relations, this position plays a crucial role in boosting the online presence of Arts Commons by creating and executing social media engagement strategies to inform, advertise and attract public interests.
You have a solid understanding of the digital landscape and can navigate through a variety of social platforms to engage our audiences and effectively convey our brand and offerings. Additionally, you can create compelling content and leverage opportunities when out in the arts community to capture and report through the appropriate social platforms. Utilizing strong project management abilities, you are able to take the lead in advancing, planning, coordinating, and executing digital marketing initiatives.
Overall, you have an ability to inspire and drive interest through the production and management of digital content and social media campaigns – ensuring Arts Commons’ continued success in sharing and elevating our brand.

What you will get to do here
As the social media lead, you play a critical role in the elevation of Arts Commons’ brand and online presence by engaging our audiences and community through our social media channels. You are an expert at telling visual and textual stories to support and raise awareness of our brand and offerings. In optimizing digital content and engaging in its execution, collection, and analysis, you will be directly involved in conversations with our greater arts community. You will act as the primary lead in managing social media and influencer marketing strategies for the Arts Commons (master) brand and our sub-brands (Education, Galleries, Connects, and Presents). In this role, you will also oversee photography and videography contracts, and assist the creative services team with marketing, sales, and communications initiatives.
The key accountabilities of this role will take a focus on the primary areas of:
- Social media strategy
- Content creation and digital design
- Influencer marketing and communications support
- Digital capture management
- Social media reporting
Strategic Goals: Devise social media initiatives, feedback mechanisms, and metrics of success to engage and encourage dialogue, as well as provide valuable information to our followers and the community around the arts, Arts Commons, our industry, partnerships, and programming.

Reporting to the senior manager, communications & public relations, this role is part of the brand and audience development team and collaborates regularly with the programming, development and event services teams, as well as artists and community partners.
You will be a great fit if you
Must haves:
- Advanced knowledge of all social media platforms, including: Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as social media management platforms such as Sprout Social and Hootsuite.
- Minimum four years of experience working in a digital landscape.
- Proficiency in current design and production software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat.
- Advanced writing skills with superior vocabulary; ability to express yourself, excellent grammar.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Organized and possess an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a sharp attention to detail and quality.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work independently and in collaboration with other team members.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced and energetic work environment where being a collaborative team player is essential.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends at Arts Commons Presents concerts, shows and festivals as a representative of the marketing team; developing our audience and communicating our offerings as needed.
- A passion for the arts!
Nice to have:
- Possess a degree or diploma in marketing, communications or digital content and design from an accredited program, and/or a minimum of 3 –5 years’ comparable work experience.
- Experience managing and optimizing paid advertising campaigns across multiple platforms including Meta and Pinterest.
