Sound Operator
Screaming Goats Collective Theatre Society
Deadline to apply: October 10, 2024
Pay: $30/hr.
The Screaming Goats Collective is looking for a sound operator for its production of Fish at the Bottom of the Sea.
We are seeking an experienced sound operator with the capacity to mix live contact mics, manipulate the sound of a live performer’s mic, while balancing the live sound with the pre-recorded composed sound design that underscores the vast majority of the production. Sound is a major component of the production and is present throughout the entire performance.
Fish at the Bottom of the Sea, written by Nicole Schafenacker, directed by Liz Hobbs, sound designed by Ashley Weckesser and choreographed and performed by Leda Davies is a contemporary circus/theatre solo show that dives into the depths of grief and the emergence of healing. It will be presented as part of a double-bill with Ontario’s circus/theatre production of In the Fire.
The sound operator will only be responsible for running sound for Fish at the Bottom of the Sea.
The sound operator will be required to attend two half-days of rehearsal (11am – 3pm) between November 12 – 22), three half-days of tech (9am – 1pm or 2 – 6pm) on November 25, 26 and 27, 2024.
The performances take place November 28 and 29, 2024 at 7pm and November 30, 2024 at 2pm.
Each performance will be a four-hour call. There may be a possibility of an additional four-hour call on November 28 for tech work as needed. This will be confirmed well in advance.
Rate of pay is $30/hr.
