Join the Libraries and Cultural Resources department for Movie Nite at the U of C!
Mary Graham, author of The Stunning Backdrop: Alberta in the Movies, 1917 to 1960, will do a short talk on the making of the Calgary Stampede, and then we’ll all enjoy a rare opportunity to view the film the rocked the world in 1925. Directed by Herbert Blaché and featuring beloved movie cowboy Hoot Gibson. Shot on the streets of Calgary, at the Calgary Stampede and Rodeo, the Palliser Hotel, the Duke of Windsor’s ranch, Wainwright and the beautiful Longview Foothills of Alberta. Come and see how many locations you recognize! Movie snacks of course. Admission is free.
