Programming Assistant

How do you fit in?
The programming assistant is a part-time position focused on supporting the operations and facility teams at The GRAND. The programming assistant works closely with the The GRAND team to ensure the successful planning and implementation of the creative residency program among other administrative and organization duties.
Duties of the Programming Assistant Include:
- Scheduling and liaising with creative residency program artists.
- Assist in developing residency manuals and artist welcome package.
- Facility walkthroughs and preparing the studio for artists.
- Ensure all security, safety and COVID-19 health and safety guidelines are being adhered to.
- Create and update master residency schedule and contact lists.
- Collect and organize artist marketing assets.
- Assist in external communications including developing weekly social media content.
- Organization and clean up of the rehearsal and office space.
- Administrative support to The GRAND team.
- Attendance and note-taking at weekly team meetings and one-on-one meetings with direct supervisor.
- Events support as needed.
- Additional tasks as required.
Qualifications/Required Skills
- Passionate about the local arts scene – and live performance in particular.
- Willing and able to assist with on site facility tours, artist in residence on-boarding, and general upkeep of the rehearsal and office space.
- Comfortable with administrative tasks while working collaboratively in a remote work environment.
- A strong communicator both written and verbally.
- Comfortable taking direction and working independently.
- The ability to ask for clarification and assistance as needed.
- Ability to work from home, when required (including the use of a personal computer, reliable internet access).
- Demonstrative good judgement.
- Knowledgeable and able to work confidently in Microsoft Office suite/Office 365/Google Workspace.
Time Commitment
This is a part-time role, up to 10 to 20 hours per week There will be a balance of remote and in-venue work at The GRAND (608 1st St. SW). The successful applicant must be available Mondays 8:00am to 4:00pm to be at the venue.
Compensation
$20/Hour

This position is supported through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30, and must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
