Reporting to the executive director, this role aids in the maintenance of our organization’s financial information. The Bookkeeper will lead accounts payable and receivable entries and assist with anything related to finances at THIRD ACTion Film Festival.

This is a contract position requiring two to four hours per month.


  • Timely entry of all accounts payable and accounts receivable entries.
  • Assisting with financial reporting.
  • Maintaining a chart of accounts.
  • Reconciling payments from non-cheque sources, including ticketing software, retail payment processors, cash sources, and e-transfers.
  • Reconcile cash payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
  • Assist with the evolution of financial systems and payment methods.


  • Three to Five years experience in bookkeeping.
  • Advanced QuickBooks skills.
  • Familiarity with Canadian accounting principles for non-profits.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working within the arts sector.
  • A passion for film.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance.
  • Strong initiative and self-starter with the drive to complete projects with little supervision.
