ThisGen Fellowship 2024

Are you a BIPOC woman or non-binary theatre director or designer looking to get to the next stage of your career?

Applications are now open for Why Not Theatre & the National Arts Centre’s ThisGen Fellowship 2024, a national initiative that supports BIPOC theatre artists to get to the next stage in their careers through paid training, mentorship, hands-on residencies and labs, and peer-to-peer connection.

About the 2024 Fellowship

Eight Fellows will be selected as part of the 2024 cohort, and applicants may apply to participate in either the Directing Stream or the Design Stream. The program will begin in May 2024 and run until August 2024 (exact dates of activities TBD).

The Directing Stream is designed for applicants interested in developing their skills as stage directors, while the Design Stream is designed for applicants interested in developing their skills in all aspects of performance design.

ThisGen is a paid training program. Each fellow will receive a fee of $8,000 CAD for their participation in the program.

Deadline to apply is December 15, 2023.
