Trauma Auditions
DIY Theatre is excited to announce auditions for their spring 2020 production, Trauma by Hope McIntyre, directed by Andrew G. Cooper.
Synopsis
Trauma examines the recent rash of school shootings through the eyes of the mothers. We see how two women, the mother of the victim and the mother of the shooter, react to this tragic incident in their children’s lives.
From this point of view, the themes of violence in our society and the need to find blame are examined. Should the parents be blamed for the actions of their children? Why do these things happen? And how does a mother cope with the grief?
Auditions are December 21, 2019, 5:00 to 8:00pm and December 22, 2019, 2:00 to 6:00pm at the Morpheus Rehearsal Space
Rehearsals will begin in January 2020. The production goes up April 24 to May 3, 2020, at Motel Theatre in the Arts Commons. DIY Theatre operates under a profit share agreement.
