The Calgary Camera Club is on the lookout for passionate and knowledgeable volunteers to facilitate our exciting hands-on workshops for the 2024 – 25 season. We are a community-driven, educational club dedicated to fostering a love for photography and helping photographers of all levels enhance their skills.
About Our Workshops
Experience the thrill of hands-on learning with our curated lineup of workshops designed to ignite your passion for photography and sharpen your skills. Whether you’re a beginner eager to learn the basics or a seasoned photographer looking to refine your craft, our workshops promise to inspire, educate and empower you on your photographic journey.
Workshop Schedule:
All workshops will take place in person at the Kingsland Community Hall on the stated dates between 7pm and 9pm.
- Low Light Photography Workshop (November 12, 2024):
Explore the enchanting world of low light photography and learn to capture stunning images using longer exposures. Experiment with creative compositions and play with light and shadow against iconic backdrops. - Creative Composition Workshop (December 10, 2024):
Dive into the art of creative composition. Learn principles like the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing while experimenting with unconventional angles and techniques. - Reflection Workshop (January 7, 2025):
Discover the art of capturing reflections. Learn techniques to create mesmerizing images by incorporating symmetry, depth, and intriguing juxtapositions with various reflective surfaces. - Photopills/Photographer’s Ephemeris Workshop (February 4, 2024):
Perfect for landscape photographers, this workshop delves into tools like Photopills and Photographer’s Ephemeris to plan shots based on celestial events, golden hours, and more. - Macro Photography Workshop (April 1, 2025):
Explore the intricate details of small subjects in the world of macro photography. Learn about specialized equipment, lighting techniques, and composition to reveal hidden beauty. - Portraits Workshop (May 13, 2025):
Focus on capturing compelling images of people. Dive into the art of portrait photography, where lighting, posing, and expression play crucial roles to convey personalities and emotions.
