Write On

Design Talks Institute is launching a writing workshop for visual arts writers in Alberta, aimed at generating interest in critical discourse around the urban environment. Instigating connections in spatial practice, d.talks invites participants with backgrounds in art, architecture, design, film, theatre, public art, anthropology and geography to respond and contribute to an open contemporary discourse.

This program is comprised of three workshops with professional writers and one-on-one mentorships in order to develop a critical essay. It offers opportunities to network with peer critical thinkers and to learn how to situate writing within the publishing industry. Write On is organized by d.talks and made possible with the support of the Rozsa Foundation.

Launching this fall, the three workshops will be led by Aaron Betsky (September), Diana Sherlock (October) and Alexandra Lange (video/November). Mentors include Victoria Baster, Donna Brunsdale, Naomi Potter, Nancy Tousley, Susanne Schindler, and Mimi Zeiger.

The call for applications can be found on dtalks.org and it closes on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at 11:00pm MDT.
