YOUth Riot 11
Cost: Free
Location: Online
APN is proud to offer this free creative writing program to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth between the ages of 14 –21.
It is a great opportunity to meet other queer youth while creating and imagining in a safe space. We prioritize the security of our participants, and every effort is made to ensure their privacy.
YOUth Riot 11 is a five session online program where participants will participate in two workshops per session with guest artists from around the province. Over the program’s duration, participants will learn new skills and forge community connection. After the workshop sessions are complete, participants are given time to work on and refine their piece for an invited presentation day, with the support of a professional dramaturg.
YOUth Riot 11 will culminate in a weekend panel from prominent, national queer artists. Participants will then be provided with an opportunity to share their work, as presented by professional actors and directors from the Alberta theatre community.
This free program will be offered online via Zoom, and so we are extending this invitation to Queer youth from across the province regardless of location.
