Here’s your sign to get out there and take the Edmonton Short Film Festival (ESFF) 48 Hour Mobile Device Film Challenge! It’s a free filmmaking challenge that will test your creativity, spontaneity, and mobile filming skills. You’ll be given just 48 hours to create a short film (max 2 minutes) with footage shot using only a smartphone or tablet. Editing may be done using any device (computers allowed). Your film must be fully completed and uploaded to YouTube and submitted to us at the 48-hour deadline. You’ll then have the following week to promote your film online. The twist? The evening when the 48-hour window of production begins, you’ll receive an email informing you of 3 secret elements that must be included in your film. This is a local event! It is open to all ages, but you must be an Alberta resident to participate. Once all films have been submitted and judged, all completed films will be showcased at the ESFF Film Expo on August 1, 2021.
