Archived June 11, 2019 Dr. Van Christou Mentored Residency 2019: The Space Between – Searching for Spatial Relationship with Architect Philip Christou The deadline for this opportunity has passed. A week-long mentorship program for artists interested in art, architecture, and space. Whether you are looking to break from your normal practice or preparing to apply to university programs, this intensive workshop is focused on learning new ways of seeing—by examining the spaces between objects rather than the objects themselves. Create more balanced and considered compositions. Learn a new way of seeing and drawing in this condensed hands-on drawing workshop that is applicable to all artistic disciplines: Drawing, painting, animation, architecture, public art, and multidisciplinary explorations. Philip Christou will guide this intensive and is currently the Director of Florian Beigel Architects in London, England where he finds himself working on post-industrial rejuvenation projects as well as urban and building design projects in the UK, Europe and South Korea. Workshop Intensive Dates August 6 – 9, 2019 9:00am to 4:00pm is open studio time, guided lectures and exercises from 4:15 to 9:45pm. Dinner will be provided. Cost & Application: This intensive is $90. Application forms are available below, at Casa or by emailing education@artslethbridge.org. Applicants are asked to submit two to three images to help determine the skill level of the overall class and these images will not determine enrollment. All materials will be supplied by Casa. For this program, the emerging artist refers to anyone who identifies as such regardless of age or previous experience.
