AFTERwords

A Condolences Project

AFTERwords: a condolences project by Sharon Stevens, curator/producer Equinox Vigil.

When a friend or family member is grieving the loss of someone close to them, it’s often difficult to craft your words. AFTERwords is a series of artist-led workshops that is an opportunity to provide time and space for interested participants to create and write condolence cards in a supported and inspiring environment.

Participants will be invited to create at least one card.

The workshops will be limited in number both for COVID safety and simply for the intimacy of what we are creating together.

AFTERwords will play a small role in building community and rituals and awareness and learnings around expressing grief and condolences.

Held in the Mortuary Chapel in Calgary’s Historic Union Cemetery.

Date: Saturday, September 10, 2022
Time: 10:30am to 3:30pm
Limits: 12 people – adults
