Archived August 11, 2020 Writer in Residence The Airdrie Public Library is accepting submissions for a new writer in residence position. The program is a five-week engagement working with the public and supporting emerging and established writers in any genre or form of writing. The writer in residence position is expected to be a 40-hour engagement and the selected person will receive an honorarium of $3,000. The writer in residence will provide one-on-one consultations and will offer manuscript readings, publishing process advice, and deliver four public speaking events including one reading of their work. Because of the unknown nature of health and safety guidelines, the successful candidate may be required to work remotely with some activities being offered online. Application Deadline: 5:00pm, September 4, 2020 Applicants Must: Have a solid publication history and an established reputation as a professional writer. Be experienced in teaching and leading writing workshops. Be able to critique a variety of writing styles and genres. Be able to handle public speaking, work with groups, and work one-on-one. Be available to undertake the engagement in October and November 2020.
