Visual Art Grades 10-12

The Careers, Arts, Wellness, Languages, and Locally Developed Courses (CAWLL) branch is seeking an experienced educator with strong collaboration and teamwork skills and successful teaching experience in fine arts—visual arts for Grades 10 to 12.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing expertise and support for the development of fine arts curriculum that supports the vision for student learning, which enables students to gain the knowledge and skills to form the foundations for successful and fulfilling lives, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.

The term of this role will be from approximately September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in education.
  • A valid permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate, plus extensive current related teaching and/or leadership experience at the school, jurisdictional and/or provincial level.
  • A minimum of five years of experience teaching fine arts—visual arts for Grades 10 to 12.
  • An understanding of the essential knowledge, skills and competencies needed by students in.
  • Fine arts—visual arts, as well as how literacy and numeracy are the foundational building blocks of learning.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching and learning processes in fine arts—visual arts.
