Position Overview

The full-time temporary arts and culture coordinator is responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality municipal arts and culture programs, events and educational opportunities that serve to enhance citizens’ quality of life and create a healthy, sustainable, inclusive community. The coordinator oversees arts and cultural programming including the Three Sisters Gallery, educational programs and community art projects. Arts and culture programming is culturally and artistically diverse and will involve Indigenous peoples as collaborators, presenters, educators and participants. The coordinator oversees the ongoing maintenance and support of the public art inventory and program and provides program support to the arts and events team.

Further, you will have the opportunity to develop your strong communication and relationship-building skills in this diverse position as you liaise with many talented people inside and outside the organization to ensure efficient and effective cultural programming. Strong organizational skills are required with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities. We are seeking an applicant that is passionate about the arts and has a university degree or college diploma in fine arts or arts administration.

The successful applicant will have three to six years of related work experience. Further knowledge of community events, cultural activities, initiatives and resources in the Bow Valley will help you to be successful in this role!

Compensation:

  • Temporary contract for a duration of 9 months
  • Standard 35 hours per week and earned day off (EDO) program (1 day off in a 3-week cycle)

Starting rate: $32.10 – $33.98 per hour
