Looking for Alto Singers

We need some altos!

Blend Vocal Association is seeking new members to join for our fall season, which begins on Thursday, September 5, 2019.

We are a 14 voice female choir, performing four-part arrangements of many genres from folk to jazz to rock to contemporary. We sometimes include simple movement in our performance but we always include enthusiasm and joy!

We are auditioning for alto voices at this time, particularly lower alto. The ability to read music is a requirement and we memorize our repertoire for performance.

Our Christmas concert will be on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Festival Hall. There will also be other performance opportunities at other gigs during the Christmas season. Our theme for this term’s concert is Holiday Christmas Party Playlist and we are very excited about the varied and challenging repertoire.

We rehearse at the Calgary Girls School in Lakeview on Thursday nights from 7:00 to 9:00pm.

Choir fees are $250 per term.

Other dates to note are our fall weekend workshop which is being held October 19 and 20, 2019.

To arrange an audition, please fill out the form under the Audition tab on our website, blendvocal.com.

Auditions will be held on September 5 and September 12, 2019, from 6:00 to 7:00pm at the Calgary Girls School Lakeview. The auditions will require a prepared solo piece, to be sung either acapella, with your own backup or by providing a simple piano arrangement that could be played by our director. There will also be a voice range check and a sight-reading exercise. You may be asked to join the rehearsal held afterwards to further assess your suitability.

Please ensure you have confirmation of an audition date and time. If you have any questions, please email us at blendvocal@gmail.com.

Please consider auditioning for this fun and talented group!
