Archived August 24, 2020 Call for Artists Calgary Cinematheque is on the hunt to commission Calgary-based artists and graphic designers to create unique designs inspired by the films from each of our main series in our upcoming season, which is tentatively set to begin in October. Designs will be used to advertise each of our main series through 11×17 posters, postcards, and on our social media pages. If you’re interested in being considered, email Zach at communication@calgarycinema.org with a brief statement of interest telling us three of your favourite films, as well as a portfolio or two to five sample works. Our selection committee will pair successful applicants with the series that best fits with their art-style and film tastes. Calgary Cinematheque is committed to removing barriers to opportunities that are faced by QBIPOC artists and encourage (but do not require) members of these groups to self-identify as such in their statement of interest. Artists will be paid $400 for their work. Application deadline is August 27, 2020.
