Archived May 28, 2021 Call for Board Members Are you interested in taking an active role in shaping the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF)? Apply to join our board of directors! Deadline for applications is June 17, 2021. Responsibilities of the Board: Ensure that the organization’s programming, workshops, and events are in line with CSIF’s mission, vision, and values. Steer CSIF by engaging in the strategic planning, and annual goals and priorities setting. Assist CSIF to adopt sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies. Provide foresight, oversight and insight. Participate and support CSIF’s fundraising initiatives. Attend monthly board meetings (two to three hrs/month). Attend CSIF events (as many as possible). Be an active advocate for CSIF. Board of Director Duties: Prepare for, attend, and participate in monthly board meetings. Attend CSIF events, and programs. Make an annual donation to CSIF, in an amount that is personally sustainable. Option to sit on least one CSIF committee (two to six hrs/month). Sit on the board for the term of two years.. Benefits Gain an in depth knowledge of CSIF. Have an impact on the direction of CSIF. Help others in the independent film community. Gain new skills in leadership, and management. Qualifications Have a CSIF Production membership in good standing. Have a passion and desire to see CSIF grow. Want to support independent filmmakers in Southern Alberta. Have any or all of the following skill sets: legal, financial, HR, other unique skill set that would advance the goals of CSIF.
