Motion Gallery invites visual artists to an open call for the new fall exhibit in October, The Chronic Art Show, which will include, painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture. The show is open to anyone, emerging artists are encouraged to submit their work, as this is a not for profit artist run gallery, that helps emerging artists get established.
This show will run from October 10 to November 10, 2018, and will be themed cannabis art.
Artists can submit up to two pieces of artwork (pieces must be no larger than a 3×3’ area) for the month-long show, submissions must be tied to the theme in some capacity and we will need a small bio and story regarding the pieces.
Important dates:
- Registration for submission deadline is September 26, 2018. No artwork required at this time.
- Art drop off will be September 29 & 30, 2018, between 12:00 and 4:00pm either day
- Public artist’s reception will be Thursday, October 17, 2018, private reception by invite only will be held Saturday, October 19, 2018
- The exhibition will run from October 10 to November 9, 2018.
- Art pick up date will be Saturday, November 10, 2018, between 12:00 and 6:00pm.
Cost: Entry fee is $50 for members of Motion Gallery Society, $60 non-members.
Two art pieces per artist can be entered and are to be juried into the show.
You will be notified if any of the work is not accepted. All mediums, 2 and 3D accepted.
All artwork must be wired properly and ready to hang. All art must be available for purchase, original, and must not be more than two years old.
The gallery will retain 25% of the sale as the gallery commission, artists will receive 75%. Any artwork not sold will be picked up by the artists November 10, 2018.
Any work not picked up will be stored at $50 a month.
The contract, art details, and tags must be brought to the gallery with your work at drop off times, payment must be received by the September 26, late entries will be charged a late entry fee of $20.
There is limited space for this show, early registration is recommended.
