CAUSE Canada is seeking a full-time communication designer to join our team. In this exciting role, the communication designer will work collaboratively with diverse colleagues in Canada and across the organization. The successful candidate will learn and hone their communication skills and, under the mentorship of the communications coordinator, developing skills to communicate with diverse and specific audiences using print, written and digital tools, including basic social media and more complex digital design tools. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to specific projects that will build their portfolio for future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Taking a strategic approach to CAUSE Canada’s communication pieces including digital, print, social, news, and other platforms.
  • Providing support in the completion and design of CAUSE Canada’s annual report and other related print pieces.
  • Creating social media content for CAUSE Canada’s Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Creating graphics, infographics, and other design pieces as needed.

Qualifications:

This position is available as part of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant program and as regulated by the grant, applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected persons under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and legally entitled work in Canada.

  • Ability to work within a Christian framework and sensitivity to its various expressions across cultures and denominations.
  • Working to complete or completed Undergraduate degree or Diploma in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communications, marketing or community engagement experience or a combination.
  • Excellent writing and communication competencies.
  • Advanced time management, planning, and follow through.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience with design and print production of reports and newsletters.
  • Experience in managing a wide range of web publishing and communications tools.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
