Community Engagement Manager

Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is requesting formal submissions from suppliers of consulting services to meet our requirements for a community engagement manager. AUArts’ centennial year is 2026. We are seeking responses from a consultant who will work with us from early 2022 to early 2027 to engage our internal and external communities in the creation and implementation of a plan that will celebrate not just our rich 100-year history, but our future.

In the role of community engagement manager, you will:

  • Consult widely in the creation of a centennial plan.
  • Work with various communities to plan centennial components.
  • Oversee the completion/implementation of centennial components which are likely to include content creation, exhibitions, events and historical research.
  • Explore, develop and manage linkages between fundraising and the centennial and any other projects that further support AUArts’ strategic plan.
  • Plan and execute the annual convocation and grad show to ensure it is a strategic component of community engagement activities leading to the centennial.
  • This is a five-year contract, beginning early 2022 to early 2027, expected to be mostly full-time.

How to Apply

Interested applicants must apply via the Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC) process at vendor.purchasingconnection.ca.

Please note, AUArts will not respond to questions/inquiries or accept submissions outside of the process outlined on the APC website.

Why AUArts?

Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is a community of thinkers, shapers, makers and risk-takers. We are students, faculty, staff and alumni rich in diversity of culture and thought, challenged to fearlessly explore what moves us, drives us and implores us to see the world differently.

AUArts offers its 1,100 students studio-based programming that leads to a bachelor of fine arts in one of nine disciplines, a bachelor of design in one of two, and an MFA in craft media. It has deep roots in Calgary’s creative community and will soon be celebrating its centennial.
