Creative Spaces Mentoring Network Program

Calgary Arts Development is excited to partner with cSPACE Projects and ArtsBuild Ontario to launch the Creative Spaces Mentoring Network to cultural workers in Calgary and the surrounding area.

The Creative Spaces Mentoring Network is a year-long program for cultural workers focused on strengthening business and management skills needed to oversee, renew and develop creative spaces. Sector leaders who are responsible for their facilities, capital-related issues, or are seeking to acquire creative space will have the unique opportunity of one-to-one learning with an experienced mentor.

ArtsBuild has offered this program across Ontario for eight years, supporting over 100 arts managers. We are thrilled to help bring this core program to Alberta’s arts and heritage sector.

How it works

Cultural workers are invited to apply to participate as a mentee or mentor. Teams are matched based on capital project needs and experience of mentors.

After an initial training workshop, teams meet up to three hours monthly over a year. Team discussions are confidential and focus on goals and challenge areas identified by the mentee at the beginning of the partnership.

All teams will take part in a Kick-Off Workshop, Mid-Program Webinar and a Wrap Up Webinar.

Applications

Application deadline for mentees and mentors has been extended to Wednesday, December 14 2022.

Applications and more information can be found on cSPACE’s website.
