About this Position

The digital marketing and social media coordinator is primarily responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring NMC’s social media strategy in order to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts, and increase sales and admissions.

The ideal candidate must be a creative and experienced social media and digital content expert, capable of handling multiple tasks and multiple accounts all at once in a fun, fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

This is a full-time, salaried position between $46 to $50K annual compensation with benefits.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in developing and executing digital marketing plans that contribute to overall brand awareness and lead generation initiatives leveraging various digital and social media platforms (i.e., LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok).
  • Strategize and optimize campaigns to deliver against marketing goals for both NMC and the King Eddy.
  • Develop and execute the paid and organic social media strategy, from preparing content calendars for specific campaigns for owned media, to creating and posting content on a regular basis.
  • Assist in establishing tracking for paid ads, while analyzing metrics for all digital efforts.
  • Advise on improvements, enhancements, and optimizations for various campaigns (i.e., pulling reports from Sprout Social and Google Analytics).
  • Generate original content to help promote events, general admission, programs, exhibitions, membership, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Support NMC’s video team with creating static or motion graphic assets for social campaigns when necessary.
  • Attend events throughout the week/weekend taking photos and/or video for live posting and use in future marketing assets.
  • Ensure that the integrity of all National Music Centre, Studio Bell, and King Eddy brands are maintained on all social media platforms.
  • Coordinate customer inquiries that come in via social media channels.
  • Assist the marketing department with all administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively craft communications across various formats including display/native ads, search copy, paid/organic social media channels, e-blasts, newsletters, invites, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in an Apple Mac environment.
  • Adept at using Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of media design/ production file format conversions for both print and digital.
  • Familiarity with and experience in content marketing strategies and execution with a strong grasp of current digital and social media marketing trends and strategies as well as best practices.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and listening skills; sound judgement with exceptional ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to use discretion with confidential material; a high level of tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and a strong work ethic are required.
  • Ability to focus on and complete tasks independently with minimal supervision while working in a hybrid environment from both at home and within an office setting.
  • High level of problem solving and interpersonal skills, including strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and on varying projects simultaneously.
  • A collaborative spirit with an enthusiasm for working with interdisciplinary teams on a variety of projects.
  • A passion for music, musical knowledge or a musical skill is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset.

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum one to three years of experience working in digital marketing and/or advertising in social media roles.
  • Some formal training in graphic design in an Adobe software environment required.
  • Prior experience working in an arts and/or non-profit environment an asset.
  • Photography/videography and motion graphics/animation experience an asset.
